Sergeant Cliff Scarlett, of Merimbula Police has said that as a result of enquiries police have made an arrest in relation to an assault on Australia Day at Spencer Park, Merimbula.
A 22-year-old Merimbula man was arrested and charged at 2pm on Thursday, February 2 in relation to the assault of a 48-year-old Merimbula man and a woman on Thursday, January 26.
The man received lacerations above his eye as a result of being hit.
Bail was refused for the 22-year-old Merimbula man who will appear at Bega Local Court later this month.

A 19-year-old Merim-bula man will face Bega Local Court next month after video surveillance showed him stealing a bottle of alcohol worth $56 from the Liquorland store in Main Street, Merimbula at 3pm, on Thursday February 2.
