A 39-year-old Merimbula female was arrested and charged with high range drink driving at 8.30am on Monday, June 22. The woman was so intoxicated she could not drive the vehicle from where she stopped in the middle of Main Street near the Merimbula Public School.

Parents dropping their children off to school noticed the woman and called police.

She returned a reading of .265 and lost her licence automatically and will face Bega Local Court next month.

A 45-year-old Pambula man was arrested for high range drink driving after being stopped by police on the Princes Highway at Pambula. The man returned a reading of 0.185 and police immediately suspended his licence. The man was abusive and treated the police with contempt. He will appear in Bega Local Court at a later date.

An 18-year-old Lochiel man was issued with a $480 fine after being caught doing burnouts on the Wolumla Sports Ground on Monday, June 8.

Two cars were broken into at Tween Waters Caravan Park during the early hours of Monday, June 22. It is a reminder to secure all vehicles as both cars were left unlocked.

A local male, two from Bega and another from Bombala, were issued with a move on direction after police moved them on from Woolworths for drunk and disorderly behaviour.

A 17-year-old local male was given a ticket for the consumption of alcohol as a minor in public place on Saturday, June 20, at 10.20pm.

n Two local youths were given move on directions from Market and Alice Streets, again at 10.30pm on Saturday night, June 20.

n At 12.15pm Wednesday, June 17, a Tura Beach male was stopped for a RBT. His vehicle was inspected and found to have incorrect numbers plates and had been unregistered and uninsured since 2004. He will face Bega Local Court next month.

n A number of people were issued with move on directions from Merimbula’s CBD over the weekend for anti social behaviour. The people were all very intoxicated and some attempted to start brawls in Market Street. Most complied with the police directions and left the area.
