Come and join the party as Merimbula prepares to welcome in 2013 with music, entertainment and fireworks at Ford Park.

Monday, December 31 will be party night in Merimbula with a great line up of outstanding local performers headlined by the Soul Machine, thanks to Harvey Norman and Panasonic’s Music on the Green. Ford Park, Merimbula will be the place to be for the family this New Year’s Eve.     

Power FM Fire in the Sky, fireworks displays will be held at 9.30pm and midnight to light up the Merimbula skies, with thanks to Dave Hanshaw, who has provided some of the most spectacular fireworks displays ever seen in Merimbula. 

An invitation is extended to our local community and visitors to bring a blanket, chairs and picnic and enjoy a wonderful evening provided by the Merimbula Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Bega Valley Shire Council and NSW Police.

A strong police presence will be in attendance for the duration of the evening, as well as support from members of the local community to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the event to those that are in attendance and the amenity of the local area.        

Up to 25 police officers will be patrolling until 4am New Year’s Day.      Alcohol restrictions come into force after midnight.

A carnival atmosphere which will include fun rides, quality food and beverage stalls and much more will entertain the many thousands expected to attend the concert to welcome in the New Year.

The festivities begin at 5.30pm.

The NYE bus program will be in operation allowing young people from all over the shire to enjoy a great night out.

Patrons are welcome to BYO a picnic with blankets, pillows and eskys.

Support is still needed so if you feel that you may be able to spare a couple hours on New Year’s Eve your assistance will be gratefully appreciated by the local tourist industry.
