We have been fighting for 11 years for an emergency access only at Mirador, running from the end of Camilla Court and connecting with Berrambool Drive.
We do not what a full access road open all the time, it is not needed. Since Mr Ramsay and RCL Group took it upon themselves to open the section of land there has been a large amount of traffic using the opening at all hours of the day and night.
Yes, with the recent weather conditions it is a relief to know if we need to get out in an emergency we can, but we do not want traffic coming up and down our quiet cul-de-sac at all hours.
Mr Ramsay stated that this was all done for the safety of residents but we all know it is about selling land and if the developers have a two road access it would help sell vacant blocks of land.
So let’s be truthful why this has been done. We also know that council won’t pay to do anything as this has been evident over the past 11 years and will let other people pay for it. So let’s hope they don’t give in to Mr Ramsay and RCL Group if they offer to pay for a road to go in.
I have sent two emails to council since the road was opened and have had no response.
Mr Russell Fitzpatrick (deputy mayor) was also sent an email as he has been on our side for the emergency access to be obtained since this started. He has been the only person to reply to my email.
I am disappointed with the News Weekly also for not contacting the residents from Mirador prior to running or since running Mr Ramsay article.
Keep Camilla Court a cul-de-sac with emergency entrance and access only this can be done.
