Be brave, shave

Sabena Lenkeit, of Merimbula, will be saying goodbye to her locks at 2pm on Thursday, March 14 at Foxez for Hair, when she takes part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s fund-raiser, the World’s Greatest Shave.

Sabena runs the launderette in Merimbula and said she often hears from her customers about how cancer has touched their lives, either directly or indirectly.

“I really feel for people and want to try and help,” she said and she’s urging everyone else to help her with sponsorship or donations. “This is a heartfelt program for me,” Sabena said.

The Leukaemia Foundation said that blood cancer is Australia’s biggest cancer killer, after lung cancer and every year more than 11,500 Australians will develop leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma.

Support Sabena by donating to World’s Greatest Shave website, or at the launderette between 9am and 12 noon, Monday to Friday. Sabena can be contacted on 0400 395 521.
