A fundraiser with a difference, organised by Tura Beach business, Inflict Group Fitness, raised almost $500 for the Merimbula and Pambula Rural Fire Services.
The boot camp style fundraiser at Spencer Park on March 3 was held by Inflict Group Fitness to show support and appreciation for what the volunteer rural fire fighters do.
Entry was by donation and the event included beach volleyball, raffles, lucky door prizes, a breakfast barbecue, activities for children and more.
A highlight of the morning was a tug of war between fire brigade members and boot camp participants, which the fire brigade lost.
Children got to play with the fire brigade truck hoses while shooting rubber ducks off cones and they could also explore the fire truck.
Nicole Cooper from the Merimbula RFS said the event was a success and it was expected something similar would be held again next year.
“Thanks to Inflict Group Fitness as they did this off their own bat and it was a great amount of money raised,” she said.
