Do you know a local guy aged 25-39 who is still looking for the girl of his dreams?
He could become one of the stars of a new show ‘When love comes to town’ and at the same time make Merimbula the backdrop for the new Channel Nine show which will be filmed in November/December this year and aired in 2014.
Kate Rooney casting producer of ‘When love comes to town’ told the News Weekly that she would love to film around Merimbula.
“This new series is specifically looking for single men (25-39yrs) in regional towns across Australia, who are looking for real, genuine love, with the aim of finding a relationship.
“We’ve been researching data and trying to find towns where there is a high proportion of men to women and Merimbula and Pambula definitely fit the bill.
“We’re really interested in finding place where’s there’s a real need. Apart from being such a visually beautiful part of Australia, my research shows there is high ration of single men here too. We know how hard it is for single guys in regional areas to meet single girls, so this show literally brings the girls to them… and these girls are willing to relocate if they find ‘the one’,” Kate said.
Kate and her team have already lined up 12 city girls who are looking for love. “We’re taking a group of single city girls on a road trip who are fed up with city dating. They’re keen to relocate for love,” Kate said.
The show aims to visit one town for state and Merimbula could be the town for NSW providing there are sufficient men.
Kate said: “Not only is it a great opportunity for single men in the area to try and meet the girl of their dreams, it’s also an opportunity to showcase their town on national television. We will be filming an entire one hour episode in the home town of two successful gentlemen and we aim to get the whole community involved, including local businesses. All we need are some single men to apply.”
“I’m looking for men from all walks of life, with diverse backgrounds and interests to be on the show.
