Less than one per cent of the two candidate preferred vote separated the Liberals’ Peter Hendy and the ALP’s Mike Kelly as counting continues for the seat of Eden-Monaro.
As of 2pm Thursday, Mr Hendy had edged slightly further ahead of Labor’s Mike Kelly by 633 votes.
At the same time 24 hours earlier, 470 votes separated the pair.
The swing away from Dr Kelly was sitting at 4.39 per cent, for the seat he had held with a 4.2 per cent margin.
On a two candidate preferred basis Mr Hendy had 50.39 per cent of the total formal vote while Dr Kelly had 49.61 per cent.
It may be next Friday before all the postal votes are counted.
