Lynne MacMillan’s cooking group recently enjoyed the delights and romance of Paris over five days, before taking a picturesque train journey to South West France. There they indulged in serious cooking, dining, shopping and touring.
U3A Sapphire Coast members learned about life in a French village after living for two weeks in a converted 13th century water mill near the small village of Mezin in Gascony.
Shopping in local markets for seasonal produce and Lynne’s cooking lessons focusing on local cuisine, were the highlights. As were visits to a duck farm, a chocolate maker, Armagnac distillery and vineyards, including the renowned wine town of St. Emillion, which dates back to the middle ages.
Lynne’s overseas adventures are popular amongst U3A members with this being the fourth tour discovering French cooking and culture.
